Shabaka is a values-driven consulting and research organisation focused on diasporas and migrants’ humanitarian action.
Shabaka was established in 2014 to help fight the injustices that leave entire communities disadvantaged and shut out from socio-economic and political progress. The current humanitarian legal and aid architecture is under increasing strain. Established in a bygone era, it no longer has the tools required to respond to contemporary issues and the resulting crisis.’ Issues like climate change mean the ‘North – South’ paradigm is no longer applicable. A new approach is needed to tackle these critical issues and that is where Shabaka believes that diaspora and migrants are critical stakeholders and formulating and delivering this new model.
We seek to work and collaborate with individuals and organisations in a range of areas, including event organising, research and communication projects. For further details please email us at info@shabaka.org.
